In his first and second championship defenses Yohan Lidon retained the belt by unanimous decision against Danijel Solaja and Patrik Vidakovics. The bouts were held in August the same year and May 2017, respectively.
The third successful title defense in August 2017 featured the 36-year-old French fighter on FIGHTMAG Top 3 head kick KO of the year alongside John Wayne Parr and Rade Opacic, when he floored Florian Kroger in the fourth round.

In his fourth championship defense last August, Lidon took the revenge against Yoann Kongolo. The pair went a five-round distance, yet it was a unanimous decision in favor of the reigning champion, who scored an eight count also with head kick cementing his victory.
