Edgars Skrivers defeats Luiz Rocha

The first “Golden Belt” was contested on September 22 (AEST) in the headliner of Karate Combat: Evolution. The event took place at the undisclosed location, featuring a ten-fight card with male and female competitors representing 17 countries.

The headline bout saw Edgars Skrivers of Latvia up against Luiz Rocha of Brazil. The championship encounter at lightweight didn’t go the distance. Skrivers took the win by TKO “after a relentless drive over three rounds,” reads the event recap sent out by the promotion.

“It started slow, but boy, we finished with some really great fights. Edgars Skrivers? Who are they gonna find to fight him? What a great fighter,” said Bas Rutten.

In the co-main event Joshua Quayhagen of the US defeated Dionicio Gustavo of the Dominican Republic by decision. The complete fight results can be found below.
