Before that the Canadian mixed martial artist retained her belt by TKO in the third round against Talita Nogueira, and by split decision against Arlene Blencowe. “The Jewel” claimed the inaugural title via fourth-round TKO of Marloes Coenen in March 2017.
Cris “Cyborg” (21-2, 1 NC) is former UFC, Strikeforce and Invicta FC featherweight titleholder. The Brazilian competitor signed with Bellator MMA earlier this month.
“Cyborg” was also seen in action this past July, when she scored a unanimous decision against Felicia Spencer, which was her final appearance inside the Octagon. In December last year she was stopped by Amanda Nunes in the first round, and lost UFC Women’s Featherweight title.
Justino earned UFC gold in 2017 by TKO in the third round against Tonya Evinger. She has successfully defended the belt twice, taking a unanimous decision against Holly Holm and the first-round stoppage win against Yana Kunitskaya.
The Julia Budd vs. Cris “Cyborg” championship bout is scheduled for five rounds. Other matchups are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
