Kamaru Usman defends against Colby Covington at UFC 245

The third championship bout has been added to the UFC 245 fight card scheduled for December 15 (AEST) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The contest features the defending welterweight champion Kamaru Usman up against former interim titleholder Colby Covington, the promotion announced on Wednesday.

Kamaru Usman (15-1) claimed UFC Welterweight title by unanimous decision against former champion Tyron Woodley in March. Before that “The Nigerian Nightmare” defeated Rafael dos Anjos, Demian Maia, Emil Weber Meek, among others. Making his second title defense, he is riding the fourteen-fight win streak.

Colby Covington (15-1) is coming of a unanimous decision against Robbie Lawler scored early August. Prior to that he took the division’s interim belt by unanimous decision against Dos Anjos, following the wins against Demian Maia, Dong Hyun, among others. He won seven bouts in a row.

Among other championship bouts featured on the UFC 245 fight card, Max Holloway defends his featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski. In addition, Amanda Nunes defends her UFC women’s bantamweight strap against Germaine de Randamie.
