Bellator 229 took place in Temecula, CA, USA on October 5 (AEST), featuring the 13-fight bill. In the main event on Paramount Network and DAZN Lorenz Larkin and Andrey Koreshkov battled it out at welterweight.

The pair went a full three-round distance. The verdict heard a split decision in favor of Larkin, who updated his record to 21-7, 1 NC. Koreshkov dropped to 22-4.

In the co-main event Saad Awad and Goiti Yamauchi squared off at lightweight. The latter claimed the win by submission in the first round.

Also on the main card, Keri Taylor Melendez came out victorious by unanimous decision from her catchweight bout against Mandy Polk. In addition, Tony Johnson stopped Joe Schilling in the third round of their middleweight battle.
