UFC 243 takes place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne Australia tomorrow, October 6. The event is headlined by the middleweight title bout between the current champion Robert Whittaker and the division’s interim titleholder Israel Adesanya. The pair meets in the scheduled for five rounds championship unification.
A day before the fight show the competitors stepped on the scales to make it official. Whittaker weighed-in at 185. Adesanya showed 184.
The-co main event is a lightweight battle between Al Iaquinta and Dan Hooker. Both competitors tipped the scales at 155.
Also on the main card heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Sergey Spivac showed 264 and 233, respectively. Luke Jumeau and Dhiego Lima both came-in at 171 for their welterweight matchup. In addition, and Justin Tafa and Yorgan De Castro declared 265.
Ji Yeon Kim was over the women’s flyweight limit, showing 128 for her encounter with Nadia Kassem, 126. She forfeits 30 percent of her purse to her opponent and the bout remains on the card at catchweight.
As well, Khalid Taha missed bantamweight limit, showing 137 for his bout against Bruno Silva, who was 136. He forfeits 20 percent of his purse in favor of his opponent and the bout also proceeds as scheduled at catchweight.
