The press conference launching the upcoming event is scheduled for this Thursday, October 17 in Amsterdam at 4:00 PM (local time) live on the official YouTube Channel and Facebook page of GLORY Kickboxing. Verhoeven and Hari will come face to face for the first time since 2016.
Riding the eleven-fight win-streak Rico Verhoeven (55-10-0, 16 KO) is a current GLORY Heavyweight champion. He was last seen in action in September 2018 in Amsterdam, where he retained his belt by a unanimous decision against Guto Inocente. Before that he defeated Mladen Brestovac, Jamal Ben Saddik, Antonio Silva, among others.
K-1 kickboxing legend Badr Hari (106-13-0, 92 KO) last fought in March 2018 in Rotterdam, where he scored a unanimous decision against Hesdy Gerges. The verdict was later overturned and declared “No Contest”, after both fighters tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Over the course of his career Hari defeated the likes of Peter Aerts, Alistair Overeem, Gokhan Saki, to name a few.
