GLORY Collision: Rico vs. Badr 2

Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari meet in the rematch on December 21 at GelreDome in Arnhem, Netherlands. The pair tops the event titled “GLORY Collision 2: Unfinished Business”. Their first bout three years ago ended in favor of Verhoeven, who took the win by TKO in the second round after Hari received arm injury.

Although there is no title on the line both competitors approach the contest if it was. In addition, the heavyweight encounter is scheduled for five rounds. The official pre-fight press conference was conducted on Thursday.

“This is a fight that I have wanted for three years because the last fight my arm was injured and my arm stopped. This is a hard way to lose a fight. Especially a fight as big as this one,” said K-1 kickboxing legend Badr Hari (106-13-0, 92 KO). “It’s maybe one of the biggest fights in my career because I am really looking for legacy, I am looking for eternal glory, not for just this win. So as a fight, it’s maybe the biggest of my career.”

The current GLORY Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven (55-10-0, 16 KO) said that “every fight, everything is on the line – your legacy, everything you trained for every day. Your blood sweat and tears are in this sport. When you lose, it doesn’t only hurt physically but mentally.”

No other bouts for GLORY Collision 2 fight card have been announced to date. More information is expected shortly.
