Johnny “Swift” Smith of Northern Ireland makes the first defense of his WKN Intercontinental Welterweight title against Shuhei Sone of Japan. The pair headlines the next edition of events “made in Prokick” billed as “Lord of the Ring”. The show takes place at Stormont Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
At the official weigh-in ceremony conducted a day before the fight show the champion tipped the scales at 69.9 kg. The challenger was 69.3 kg. The contest is scheduled for five rounds in oriental kickboxing.
The co-main event features former two-division World Kickboxing Network champion (featherweight and lightweight) Gary Hamilton of Northern Ireland up against Douglas Morrision of Scotland. The encounter is the “18 years in the making” rematch.
The athletes weighed-in at 71.4 kg and 70.6 kg, respectively. The super welterweight bout is scheduled for seven rounds in Full Contact.
