Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev weigh-in results

Middleweight king Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KO) moves up a weight class to challenge the defending WBO Light Heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (34-3-1, 29 KO). The pair headlines the fight card on DAZN held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.


A day before the fight show the fighters stepped on the scales to make it official. Canelo comfortably made the required limit, showing 174.5. Kovalev had to make three attempts on the stage, showing 176, 175.5 and 175.25. He was then given one hour to cut the quarter of a pound, and declared 175 on the fourth attempt.

The Alvarez vs. Kovalev championship bout is scheduled for five rounds.
