Lightweight kickboxing champion Marat Grigorian makes the second defense of his belt against challenger Elvis Gashi on December 7 in Shenzhen. The five-round title bout headlines GLORY 73, marking the promotion’s return to China.

In his previous outing mid October Marat Grigorian (62-11-1, 35 KO) retained the belt by unanimous decision against Tyjani Beztati. The Armenian-Belgian kickboxer claimed the title by unanimous decision against former champion Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in May. Prior to that he took a split decision against Christian Baya.

Elvis Gashi (23-0, 11 KO) is riding the five-fight win streak, winning all of his bouts in GLORY Kickboxing. He is coming off the 23 seconds knockout win scored against Justin Houghton in July. Before that, the American competitor earned a unanimous decision against Nick Chasteen, William Goldie-Galloway and Nate Richardson, and knocked Josh Jauncey out in Round 2.

Other bouts for GLORY 73 Shenzhen are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The next on the promotion’s calendar is a return to the US with a double header held in Chicago, IL. The events billed as GLORY 71 and GLORY 72 take place at the Wintrust Arena on November 22-23, featuring Anissa Meksen up against Tiffany van Soest in their third encounter and Petpanomrung Kiatmuu9 faceoff Alexei Ulianov in the rematch (respectively).
