Muay Thai star Yodsanklai Fairtex was back in the ring last night (Nov. 16) in Beijing, China. The famed competitor faced the promotional newcomer Jamal Yusupov of Russia at the event titled “ONE Age of Dragons”. The latter took the fight on a short notice, replacing Sasha Moisa.
The scheduled for three-rounds 73 kg catchweight Muay Thai battle didn’t go the distance. Yodsanklai seemed in control during the first three minutes. Yet, the tables turned in the following round when Yusupov caught and dropped him with a series of strikes.
Yodsanklai beat the eight count. Yusupov, however, used the momentum to switch “The Boxing Computer” off, declaring the win by knockout 39 seconds in Round 2.

“There is nothing to say, except of apologizing to the fans. I am disappointed,” Yodsanklai Fairtex posted on Facebook after the fight.
The outcome is the second defeat the famed Thai fighter suffered in a row. In May he dropped a unanimous decision against Samy Sana in the quarter-final bout of ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix. Before that he was unbeaten in more than 30 bouts since 2012.
In the headliner of ONE Age of Dragons Ilias Ennahachi retained his flyweight kickboxing title by split decision against Wang Wenfeng. The complete fight results from the event can be found here.
