Deontay Wilder (41-0-1, 39 KO) makes the tenth defense of his WBC Heavyweight title against challenger Luis Ortiz (31-1, 26 KO, 2 NC) in the championship rematch. The scheduled for twelve rounds contest headlines the fight card held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 24 (AEST).
Wilder and Ortiz first met in March 2018 at the Barclays Center in New York City. The encounter ended in the tenth round in favor of champion, who retained his belt by TKO.
In his following outing late last year “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder went a full 12-round distance with Tyson Fury and retained his belt as a result of a split draw. In his previous bout this past May the American champion successfully defended his belt by knockout in the first round against Dominic Breazeale.
“King Kong” Ortiz rebounded with a pair of TKO victories against Razvan Cojanu and Travis Kauffman in Round 2 and 10 (respectively). The Cuban boxer was last seen in action in March, when he scored a unanimous decision against Christian Hammer.
