Kevin Vannostrand (19-3, 12 KO) replaced Alexei Ulianov in the headline-bout of GLORY 72, taking place at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, IL on November 23. Former interim titleholder faces the reigning champion in the division Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao (163-36-2, 27 KO) in the scheduled for five rounds championship rematch.
Petchpanomrung and VanNostrand first met in the co-main event of GLORY 55 New York held in July 2018. The encounter went a full five-round distance and ended in favor the current champion, who took the interim title by split decision.
In his following outing in September the same year Petpanomrung scored a unanimous decision against then undisputed champion Robin van Roosmalen and unified the belts. In the next two bouts “The Professor” successfully defended his title by unanimous decision against Serhiy Adamchuk this past February, and most recently against Anvar Boynazarov in July.
After dropping the interim title VanNostrand rebounded with a pair of victories. He was also in action in July in Orlando, FL, where he defeated Adamchuk by unanimous decision. Last November he defeated Massaro Glunder also by unanimous decision.
The Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao vs. Kevin Vannostrand championship bout headlines GLORY 72, which is the second chapter of two back to back events that the promotion presents this weekend. The first event, billed as GLORY 71, is held a day earlier, featuring Anissa Meksen in defense of her super bantamweight title against former champion Tiffany van Soest in their third battle.
