Anthony Mundine (48-9, 28 KO) and John Wayne Parr (10-3, 10 KO) square off in a 10-round 75 kg catchweight boxing match on November 30. The bout was scheduled to take place at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast. On Monday the promoters (DDP Sports) announced a new venue accommodating the event, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Bank.
“New venue, same date, same time. We are moving the event to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, South Bank,” reads the post on Instagram.
“With the threat of further smoke pollution down the Gold Coast, a decision was made considering the health and well being for both fighters and spectators. All tickets remain valid and can he used at the Brisbane Convention Centre. For further information please contact Ticketek.”
Anthony Mundine, 44, is a former WBA Super Middleweight and IBO Middleweight champion. John Wayne Parr, 43, is a former 10-time world champion in Muay Thai and Kickboxing, who makes his final appearance inside the squared circle.
The co-main event features Muay Thai fighter turned pro-boxer Ben Mahoney up against John Ruba. The pair battles it out for a vacant IBO Asia Pacific Super Welterweight title. The championship bout is scheduled for ten rounds.
The undercard features a series of bouts with local and international competitors.
