Valentina Shevchenko makes the third defense of her flyweight title against Katlyn Chookagian. The pair squares off in the scheduled for five rounds championship bout, which serves as a co-main event of UFC Houston pay-per-view fight card, the promotion announced on Wednesday. The event held at Toyota Center on February 9 (AEST) is headlined by a five-round light heavyweight title bout between the champion Jon Jones and challenger Dominick Reyes.

Valentina Shevchenko (18-3) is riding the four-fight win streak. In her previous bout in August she retained the belt by unanimous decision against Liz Carmouche.

Prior completely switching to mixed martial arts, Valentina Schevchenko has competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing, winning numerous titles. She has also recorded 2-0 in pro boxing.

Katlyn Chookagian (13-2) won two of her previous bouts by unanimous decision. Early this month she defeated Jennifer Maia, following the win against Joanne Calderwood scored in June.
