The World Kickboxing Network announced its next visit to Slovakia scheduled for January 25 in Povazska Bystrica. The event titled “Galavecer Bojovych Sportov” (Night of Combat Sports, Eng.) is the fourth show featured on the organization’s event calendar for 2020 to date. The headline-bout is a contest for WKN Slovakian super lightweight title between champion Kristian Nguyen and challenger Peter Lepis.
Kristian Nguyen earned the belt in October 2018 against his country-fellow Ivan Tencer in Bratislava. In April this year he tested himself on the international stage at BFS 1 in Nimes, where he went up against WKN European champion in the division, French Hakim Ketaieb in a three-round non-title bout, yet fell short, dropping a unanimous decision.
Peter Lepis fought the likes of Ondrej Ginovsky, Lukas Dubovec and Andrej Kandrac. He appeared at such events as Enfusion 68 in Zilina, KnockOut III in Kezmarok.
The rest of the card is a expected to see a series of kickboxing bouts with local and international competitors.

Two WKN championship events were promoted in Slovakia this year in the country’s capital Bratislava and Povazska Bystrica. Five episodes of kickboxing series Simply the Best we produced in Poprad and Kosice during four seasons (2014-2018).
The list of other events featured on the WKN calendar for 2020 to date includes Boxing Fighters System 2 in Nimes, France, Against the Ropes 2 in Fraserburgh, Scotland, and a highly anticipated boxing match between Marcos “El Chino” Maidana and Jorge “Acero Cali” in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
