French star Yohan Lidon makes the fifth defense of his World Kickboxing Network super middleweight title against challenger from Georgia, Giorgi Kankava. The contest headlines “La Nuit des Challenges 19” presented by Nasser Kacem tonight (Dec. 14) at Palais des Sports in Saint-Fons, France.
At the official weigh-in ceremony, conducted a day before the fight show, both athletes made the required limit of 79.4 kg (175 lbs). The champion tipped the scales at 79.2 kg. The challenger was 78.6 kg. The championship bout is scheduled for five rounds in oriental kickboxing (K-1 style).
The fight card also includes the four-fight Muay Thai contest featuring Team France up against Team Thailand managed by famous promoter Songchai Rattanasuban. Brandon Vieira takes on Kongmuangtai, Antar Kacem faces Phetkoksak, Hakim Hamech squares off against Plangrith, and Abdelnour Ali Kada goes up against Attapong.
Among other bouts local Yassine Hamlaoui faces Viorel Vyntu, Anthony Leroy meets Pascal Toure, and Lindsey Thomas battles it out against Tanja Moos. In addition, Joao Bryton faces off Shpat Duraku. The complete La Nuit des Challenges 19 fight card and weigh-in results can be found below.
